Yoga Classes

My Vinyasa flow classes are moderately-paced and steady. Nuanced instruction is given to deepen your understanding of the poses, while allowing space to listen deeply to your body and mind. The combination of pranayama, asana and meditation allows you to experience greater strength and flexibility, improved concentration, and a deep sense of overall well-being. I also incorporate yoga philosophy that can be applied both on and off the mat, for even greater self-understanding. Classes vary in length from 60 to 90 minutes, and offer three levels from beginner to advanced. Prepare to have new tools to decrease the stress of life and become more joyful.

Vinyasa Class Levels:

Level I

Practice is for beginners and those who are more successful with a measured pace of instruction. There are typically lots of options given for modifying poses. Consideration is given for those in the learning stage allowing you to accomplish each move without feeling pressured.

Class length: 1 hour

Level I and II

Practice flows with a steady pace for the advanced beginner to intermediate practitioner. You will know more of the poses, but more importantly, begin to modify each pose more effectively on your own. With ample instruction and modifications when needed, you will feel at ease while challenging yourself. Pranayama or breath work is also emphasized.

Class length: 75 minutes

Level II

We will move with less direct instruction through the asanas making this class ideal for intermediate practitioners. You should have some confidence and proficiency in your own practice as there are a few more challenging postures at this level including inversions or arm balance. There is also more time spent with pranayama and meditation.

Class length: 90 minutes

Yoga Nidra

Yoga Nidra is a deeply restorative and healing yoga practice. Class time will consist of a simple movement warm up, followed by the Nidra practice. The Nidra practice is done entirely while lying down; we practice relaxing deeply while still maintaining a hint of awareness. If you tend towards taking only very active classes, or lead a full and busy life come and explore a different side of yoga. Suitable for all ages and stages of life.

Class length: 1 hour

Susan B.

Jen has a gentle attitude but keeps her classes challenging. She has a gift for teaching and a wonderful ability to make you feel encouraged, not criticized. I leave her class feeling energized and zen at the same time. You are encouraged to listen to your body and to rest as needed, or conversely, strive even more to progress in your practice. She is always open to questions and makes you feel welcome every time you walk through the door.
