Hi, I’m Jen.

I’m a seeker and a teacher.  I’m a lover of dance and poetry.  I’m a wife and mother.  I’m deeply curious about bodies and the souls that inhabit them.  I often dance in my kitchen while making dinner.  I’m just beginning to delve into the world of myths and archetypes. I’m thrilled you’ve found your way here and am happy to introduce myself.

I’ve been teaching since I was a teenager, starting as a dance teacher of young people.  It was a significant part of my youth and took me through college, where I continued to study dance and found Pilates.  I was incredibly fortunate to study at The Pilates Center, in Boulder, CO.  After graduating, I moved to New York City to pursue dance, where I continued to grow as a Pilates teacher and discovered Yoga.

After moving to Washington, DC I studied many body-based techniques, performed in dance companies, owned a Pilates studio, managed another, created a Pilates Teacher Training Program, and completed two Yoga teacher training programs.

I’m grateful to now be living in the mountains of Colorado with my husband and son, with 2 older adult children out in the world. It’s an honor to work with clients from all over—both in-person and online platforms.  I do consider it my life’s work, to help clients grow, in their health and well-being: body, heart and soul.  It’s intimate work, the willingness to be open to new pathways in the body, new ideas taking root in the mind and always, all ways, growing the heart.

I’d love to work with you.

My Approach to Yoga

Yoga is a beautiful practice that allows for growing into our fullest potential and healthiest version of ourselves. It is an ancient system based in Indian roots that is a guide map for living. We start where we are and go from there.  My approach allows for different levels of experience and different goals. A typical practice includes centering, active asanas, breath-centered focus, meditation, savasana, and orientation for the day, afternoon or evening ahead.

My Approach to Pilates

I am a classically trained teacher, with a contemporary approach. In my original teacher training, I was taught the full spectrum of the Pilates method as Joseph Pilates devised it. I’ve worked with hundreds of students and completed many trainings since that have updated my views and goals. As our understanding of the body continues to evolve, I’ve grown too. Weaving together classical material, newer movements and exercises, challenge and fun, I believe the Pilates method and material is a brilliant foundation for a healthy body, mind and spirit…another doorway into a deeper understanding of ourselves.

My Approach to Ayurveda

As an Ayurveda Yoga Specialist, I’ll work with you to educate and deepen your relationship with Ayurveda and yourself. This ancient system of healthy living has much to teach us about living in harmony with nature, in our stage of life . We will work together to discover your current state of balance/imbalance and along with your goals, we will create a map towards better health and vitality. Tools we will utilize include lifestyle choices, Yoga, daily routines and diet.
